Colonial Williamsburg Courthouse and Magazine: The octogonally shaped Magazine, the Virginia Colony’s arsenal, and the Courthouse are located on Duke of Gloucester Street halfway between the Capitol and the College of William and Mary. On court days, scores of inhabitants gathered around the Courthouse to participate in the public affairs of the community.

US to US Group 450

CIVIL WAR, VIRGINIA. Every year over 1,000 participants on both Confederate and Union sides converge on the fields of New Market, combining efforts to reenact the fighting which took place there during the Civil War. This battle that occurred on May 15, 1864 was unique in that it took the aid of 257 V.M.I. cadets to overcome Union forces. Locals and tourists each come out in grand numbers to witness the depiction of fierce fighting performed by Civil War enthusiasts.
